Energy Surcharges

Dicaperl Minerals LLC, a subsidiary of Dicalite Management Group is implementing a Temporary Energy Surcharge on its Perlite Ore product lines. The extreme volatility in natural gas prices is creating an unprecedented impact on our business and we are doing everything possible to ensure continuity of supply. Unfortunately, we must institute this surcharge to cover a portion of the incremental energy increases we are absorbing each month. We want to emphasize that this surcharge is temporary and will only be in place during times of extreme fuel oil prices. More details:

The energy surcharge will apply to all shipments from our Socorro, NM operation. The effective date is for orders shipping on or after April 1, 2022, including existing orders that are already scheduled for shipment on or after that date. There is no surcharge for  May 2023 shipments. The surcharge for July 2023 shipments will be determined using the average costs/MMBtu in May 2023.

Energy Surcharge

• There is no surcharge for the month of June 2023
• Invoicing mechanism: Will be reflected on a separate invoice line
• The surcharge amount will be automatically updated on orders each consecutive month
• The surcharge calculation will be based on the average price at the close of each month listed for the Henry Hub Natural Gas Spot Price index. This information is listed by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
• The invoiced surcharge amount for each incremental natural gas cost is in the chart above.

The energy surcharge will apply to all shipments from our North American Dicaperl and SPV expanded perlite locations. The locations are: Fallon NV, Noble OK, Phoenix AZ, Nashville TN, Crawfordsville IN, Pennsauken NJ, Thomaston ME, Antonito CO, Edmonton AB, and Winnipeg MB. The effective date is for orders shipping on or after April 1, 2022, including existing orders that are already scheduled for shipment on or after that date. There is no surcharge for June 2023 shipments. The surcharge for July 2023 shipments will be determined using the average costs/MMBtu in May 2023.

The extreme volatility in fuel oil prices is creating an unprecedented impact on our business and we are doing everything possible to ensure continuity of supply. Unfortunately, we must institute this surcharge to cover a portion of the incremental energy increases we are absorbing each month. We want to emphasize that this surcharge is temporary and will only be in place during times of extreme fuel oil prices. More details:

The energy surcharge will apply to all shipments from our Burney, CA, and Basalt, NV operations. The effective date is for orders shipping on or after April 1, 2022, including existing orders that are already scheduled for shipment on or after that date. The surcharge for June 2023 shipments will be $8/short ton. The surcharge for July 2023 shipments will be determined using the average costs/gallon in May 2023.

Energy surcharge

• From 1st of June: $8/short ton for all June invoices
• The surcharge amount will be automatically updated on orders each consecutive month.
  • The surcharge calculation will be based on the average spot price at the close of each month listed for the Weekly Los Angeles, CA Ultra-Low Sulfur CARB Diesel Spot Price. This information is listed by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
  • The invoiced surcharge amount for each incremental fuel oil cost is in the chart below.

Ghent, Belgium, January 2023, Dicalite Europe, a subsidiary of Dicalite Management Group, an international industrial minerals company, announced today that it is transitioning its energy surcharge program to a fixed amount as of April 1^st 2023. This proactive approach will eliminate the monthly fluctuation in surcharge amounts and allow for consistent pricing for the remainder of the year.  The new surcharge amount will be +55€/mt for all Perlite and Diatomaceous earth business from 1^st of April until December 31^st, 2023.

Dicalite choose this conservative approach after several discussion with end-users.  The fixed surcharge will avoid monthly impact on our and our end-users business by energy surcharges. In reality, high energy costs resulted in energy surcharges of up to +191€/mt over last 12 month. This change puts the pressure on Dicalite to manage the costs and better hedge the market.

The  modified energy surcharge will apply to all shipments scheduled to ship on or after April 1st, 2023 until Dec 31^st, 2023. This includes orders that are already scheduled for shipment after that date.
