Job Summary
As Quality Control Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our product quality, setting up and maintaining a centralized Quality Management System, analyzing data and KPIs related to quality control metrics, customer complaints, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with production, operations, sales, and other cross-functional teams to improve customer centricity and achieve our quality objectives. In addition, this position will support the sales team in providing information, service, and solutions related to purchased material. This position is also responsible for providing technical sales support to our sales team and customers. Enhancing the technical knowledge of our team will be paramount. This position can be based in either the Reno, NV area or the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible to create and manage a centralized Quality Management System that manages for the day-to-day QA/QC activities for the company.
- Develop, prepare, standardize, and implement quality control processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure product quality and consistency for the diatomaceous earth, vermiculite, and perlite business units.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics, key performance indicators and benchmarks to track and improve product quality.
- Develops, coordinates, and manage quality control testing procedures, including chemical analysis, physical testing, and product performance evaluations.
- Ensure that testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific quality requirements including but not limited to FDA, SQF, GMP, HAACP, etc. for food and feed additives.
- Provide training and standardization to plants.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records and documentation.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in the quality control processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive continuous quality enhancement.
- Interface with customers to address quality inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
- Plan and conduct internal audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards.
- Develop technical sales tools, materials, and current product knowledge to support our commercial team and customers.
- Develop and deliver high-quality technical and application-based presentations detailing the problem, procedure, results, and conclusions, and educate operations and commercial team members.
- Provide training to the sales team as needed.
- Follow up on all inquiries related to samples, and test data and support or lead customer audits.

Qualifications

- Must possess comprehensive knowledge of products and processes and perform technical and complex testing and analysis.
Working Conditions
- Must work independently and be highly organized.
- Normal office/laboratory environments; however, time will be spent in the mining/manufacturing facilities.
- Noise levels are typical of a manufacturing/mining environment.

Job Summary
The QC Technician is responsible for the inspection of raw materials, in-process testing and managing material and finished products to ensure they conform to all standards. The material and product will be tested across the three stages of production (before, in-process and final) to ensure products meet quality control specifications along with recording and maintaining documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage QC testing of finished perlite samples and ensure that finished goods meet quality control standards before shipping.
- Manage all functions of the plant labs including collecting, testing, documenting, retention, and training from raw material, through the production, to finished goods testing.
- Conduct a variety of tests of materials using various testing tools and methods.
- Conduct a series of audits throughout the production, packaging, material handling, quality evaluation and shipping processes.
- Responds to and makes recommendations for preventive measures regarding the resolution and prevention of Customer Complaints.
- Train and supervise all personnel and activities related to the testing of samples.
- Interact with other Dicaperl locations on QC procedures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the QC team and members of other teams (production, maintenance, etc.)
- Collect, test, document and send sample requests to customers.
- Cross train with Production Supervisor and can fill in as needed.
- Maintain high level communication with Production Supervisor and Plant Manager to ensure efficiency and meeting all plant goals.
- Verification of shipping documents.
- Ability to create written procedures or standard work for process control.

Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills with experience in (Outlook, Excel and Word) is required.
- Minimum 2-year degree preferred.

Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide general support and assistance to the plant manager.
- Perform clerical duties and filing.
- Assist as needed to keep the office for the plant running efficiently to include filing/AP/AR functions.
- Communicate with plant manager and team members on a daily basis to collect necessary paperwork and documentation for customer invoicing, daily production and sales reports.
- Partner with HR to update and maintain office policies and procedures as necessary.
- Communicate with corporate office on a frequent basis regarding budgeting, HR matters, invoicing and other matters as required.
- Provide customer service support when necessary.
- Set up shipping for orders, working with outside vendors to meet delivery schedules on time.

Job Summary
As part of the Specialty Vermiculite team located in Enoree, SC, the HSQ Coordinator will manage and monitor internal and external safety and compliance programs, coordinate employee training, oversee product quality control reporting and purchasing administration functions.
The position will:
- Manage and ensure administrative compliance with internal and external record keeping related to Health, Safety and Product Quality Control.
- Ensure workplace safety and compliance records meet industry standards, as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), and Best Practice protocols.
- Maintain records as defined by MSHA, OSHA, South Carolina DHEC, ISO 9000, UL Certification, and Internal Control systems.
- Maintain Certificate of Analysis (COA) product quality records ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
- Coordinate employee training programs to meet compliance with regulatory and internal standard protocol.
- Administer training programs, field inspections, laboratory practices, and other functions that focus on Health, Safety and Product Quality Control.

Job Summary
The Process Engineer will lead the operations team to facilitate the implementation of our Operational Excellence Program using best practices and trends to develop and implement processes designed with improved safety, quality, and efficiency. The key role includes troubleshooting process issues, trending operating conditions, managing projects, and identifying and validating process technology. The functional position will work closely with frontline operations and maintenance team members, daily. The process engineer will also take on a small number of the plant operational functions to gain experience and help control margin i.e., sustainable development, safety projects, environmental impact improvements, etc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design improvement analysis of existing processes and new product process equipment capabilities.
- Standardize equipment and practices including process flow sheets, P&ID flow sheets, assembly drawings, details drawings, mass balances, and fabrication layout drawing.
- Establish and support the preventative maintenance programs and key parts lists and inventories.
- Supervision of capital and continuous improvement projects.
- Qualification of vendors.
- Validation of process changes and finished product quality.
- Travel between sites in California and Nevada; time at Nevada site is estimated at 25%.

Job Summary
The Laborer position is responsible for providing a multitude of responsibilities. A successful candidate requires good mechanical aptitude with ability and desire to learn. This is a union position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform safety inspection of work area and equipment.
- Inspect personal safety equipment for functional working conditions: hard hats, safety toed shoes, eye protection respirators, ear plugs, clothing, etc.
- Observe all employees working in the laborer’s assigned area to see they are in a condition to work safely and are working safely.
- Report any hazards in assigned work area to mill operator lead and record on mill report.
- Complete pre-inspection report on any equipment that laborer may be required to use during shift.
- Maintain a clean workstation and production floor.
- Report any issues to the supervisor.
- Be available to help if needed and to help clean up when task is completed.
- May be required to shovel or sweep for all or most of an eight (8) hour shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis and work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
