Regional Sales Manager

Dicalite is a company that uses naturally occurring minerals (diatomaceous earth, perlite, and vermiculite) to improve products used for filtration of liquids such as wine, beer, food products, chemicals, and swimming pool water, for use in building products such as wallboard, ceiling tile, and joint compound, and for use in creating potting soils and growing media for plant growth. Dicalite operates at the intersection of mining, branded consumer products, transportation, industrial manufacturing, and research & product development to provide value to over 1,000 customers across the world. Dicalite is privately owned and has been in business for 95 years.

Dicalite’s operating footprint includes 16 facilities across North America and Europe. Operating through a fully integrated network of five mines and twelve refining, processing, and packaging facilities, the company has a unique multi-mineral platform that includes perlite, vermiculite, and diatomaceous earth. Dicalite’s core business is selling wholesale products to blue chip customers such as Home Depot, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Cargill, DuPont, Leslie’s Pool Supplies, numerous California wineries, 3M, and Nestle Purina, among others.

Broad Function

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of Dicalite Management Group’s sales and distributor markets throughout region. The position will drive sales to achieve profit growth and sales objectives in line with Dicalite’s vision and strategic plan. The position requires the individual to manage existing customers and distributors, while finding, developing, and establishing new business. Additionally, there is an opportunity to develop and work collaboratively with inside sales resources.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the sales within the region as specified.
  • Develop and build relationships with current and new customers.
  • Deliver yearly sales growth targets while maintaining existing customers within the region.
  • Analyze sales reports for pricing and volume irregularities, identifying customers that may have stopped ordering or changed volume requirements.
  • Work closely with the Customer Support team on pricing, invoicing, and order requirements for the customer base.
  • Face to face meetings with customers and distribution partners to develop successful growth and target plans, as well as understanding current product requirements and forecasts.
  • Develop thorough understanding of the assigned market: customer positioning and hierarchy, competitors, trends, products, and new product development needs.
  • Liaise with marketing and new product development colleagues to organize visits/presentations and better establish customer satisfaction.
  • Participate and represent the company at industry trades shows that relate to our products and markets.
  • Complete a weekly report of activity and customer interactions.
  • Plan and execute all travel within corporate policy guidelines to ensure maximum efficiency and customer engagement when traveling for work.
  • Maintain an updated view of your sales pipeline across all three mineral product groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of sales experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Mineral Processing, Chemistry preferred)
  • Experience with vermiculite, perlite, and or diatomaceous earth minerals is preferred.
  • Customer oriented, innovative, and problem solving.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate an extensive network of contacts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates.
  • Self-motivation and ability to manage time and resources effectively to achieve goals.
  • Well-honed listening skills and a problem-solving attitude to uncover needs and motivations to overcome objections to close a sale.

Working Conditions

  • This position routinely operates standard office equipment and requires frequent communication with team members as well as customers.
  • Travel as required road and air. Estimated at 50%

Broad Function

The Database Analyst will be responsible for developing financial reporting dashboards and creating and maintaining integrated database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting and advanced knowledge of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server. This candidate will be at the forefront of developing new financial reporting tools and dashboards in One Stream and manages our company’s SQL databases, ensuring their stability, security, resiliency, and performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the company’s databases, including database design, implementation, backup, recovery, resiliency, and performance tuning.
  • Develop and maintain database-related queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in One Stream to visualize financial data and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with the organization to design, develop, and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Proactively monitor database performance, resolve database issues, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain database security and access controls to ensure data confidentiality and privacy.
  • Develop integrations to internal and external systems with REST APIs.
  • Provide database support to the organization and resolve technical problems as needed.
  • Participate in the development and testing of database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Document new and existing processes including queries, development workflows, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, MIS, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL & SQL Server, including stored procedures, views, SSIS & SSAS integrations, SSRS customizations, and optimization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with One Stream, Power BI, and dashboards development.
  • Experience with REST API development and integration.
  • Working knowledge of on-premises ERP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
