Job Summary:
As Quality Control Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our product quality, setting up and maintaining quality control processes across the organization, analyzing data and KPIs related to quality control metrics, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with production, operations, sales, and other cross-functional teams to achieve our quality objectives. In addition, this position will support the sales team in providing information, service, and solutions related to purchased material. This position is also responsible for providing technical sales support to our sales team and customers. Enhancing the technical knowledge of our team will be paramount.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day QA/QC activities for the company.
- Develop, prepare, standardize, and implement quality control processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure product quality and consistency for the diatomaceous earth, vermiculite, and perlite business units.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics, key performance indicators and benchmarks to track and improve product quality.
- Develops, coordinates, and manage quality control testing procedures, including chemical analysis, physical testing, and product performance evaluations.
- Ensure that testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Provide training and standardization to plants.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records and documentation.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in the quality control processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive continuous quality enhancement.
- Interface with customers to address quality inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
- Plan and conduct internal audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards.
- Develop technical sales tools, materials, and current product knowledge to support our commercial team and customers.
- Develop and deliver high-quality technical and application-based presentations detailing the problem, procedure, results, and conclusions, and educate operations and commercial team members.
- Provide training to the sales team as needed.
- Follow up on all inquiries related to samples, and test data and support or lead customer audits.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in science or related field (Chemistry, material science, Engineering)
- Requires a minimum of 5-6 years of in QA/QC and laboratory testing; Industrial mineral mining experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, testing techniques, and relevant industry standards.
- Must possess comprehensive knowledge of products and processes and perform technical and complex testing and analysis.
Working Conditions:
- Must work independently and be highly organized.
- Normal office/laboratory environments; however, time will be spent in the mining/manufacturing facilities.
- Noise levels are typical of a manufacturing/mining environment.
- Work in cold and warm environments.
- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, supplies and product samples that weigh up to 25 lbs.
- PPE is required regularly, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, safety toed boots, protective clothing, and other PPE as necessary.
- Travel to facilities is required – 25%-50% expected.

North American Quality Control Manager

Our Company
Dicalite Minerals Corporation is a growing international industrial minerals company with 17 facilities across North America and Europe. Operating through a fully integrated network of four mines and twelve refining, processing, and packaging facilities, the company has a unique multi-mineral platform that includes perlite, vermiculite, and diatomaceous earth. These processed minerals are used in a wide variety of applications, including food and beverage filtration, water treatment, construction materials such as acoustical tiles, horticulture irrigation, functional additives for coatings, fire retardant coatings and many more. Our brands, including SPV, Dicaperl, Chemrock Cryogenics and Microlite are well established.
Broad Function:
The Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for performing repairs, preventative, trouble-shooting maintenance within a mineral processing facility. A successful candidate requires good mechanical aptitude with ability and desire to learn. Experience in welding and fabricating required.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Must be able to perform skilled mechanical work with ability to cut and weld 5 to 6” pipe to achieve the angle and length required.
· Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on processing plant equipment.
· Must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate effectively to all parties to keep operations running efficiently.
· Assist in the repair and fabrication of process equipment as required.
· Be willing to work overtime as needed (including some weekends and call-ins)
· Assist in keeping the shop and production facility organized and free of hazards.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis and work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
· Must be able to feel comfortable with operating and working on equipment with heights greater than 13 feet.
· 3 years of experience in fabrication required.
· Able to read and follow drawings and blueprints.
· Experience in hoisting and rigging loads.
· Must have ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
· Ability to complete minimal design of minor equipment and figure a material list.
· Must be able to pass a drug test.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary:
The Human Resource Specialist will take ownership and lead the communication of various initiatives within the Human Resources department. These initiatives will include recruiting, benefits administration (health, retirement, pension), company culture initiatives, and wellness competitions, among others.
The position requires a results-oriented and improvement minded individual, who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and work in an entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communications skills, and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Promote a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives.
· Support and spearhead HR initiatives which include on-boarding/off-boarding, training, performance management, and recruiting.
· Support the development of communication tools and a branding philosophy to enhance the understanding of the company’s benefits package across the entire organization.
· Manages the benefits process including writing communication and enrollment materials for the on-boarding of new hires, open enrollment, etc.
· Understand and utilize the technology (HRIS) provided by our benefits vendors to enhance the employee experience.
· Serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day human resource and benefit matters and the subject matter expert on benefit offerings (health, welfare, retirement, COBRA)
· Address employee inquiries, concerns regarding benefits in a timely and empathetic manner.
· Responsible for processing and reconciliations of insurance invoices for vendors
· Responsible for pension administration and servicing retirees with any questions around those benefits
· Support employees in the enrollment of their benefits offerings and manage any changes to benefits and its communication.
· Point of contact for our vendors (retirement, health plans, wellness, benefits)
· Process and administer leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
· Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
· Responsible for annual benefit filings, ACA reporting.
· Responsible for monthly Department of Labor Reporting.

· Serve as the back-up to the payroll administrator.

Working Conditions:

· This position is mainly sedentary. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting.
